I Think I Lost My Key

from Snake Road by Englewood

lyrics

I woke up this morning, and didn’t feel right.
I don’t understand it -- I slept well last night.
I woke up this morning, there was something wrong with me.
'Cuz when I woke up this morning
I couldn’t find my key.

I tried some keys, I tried A, B, and C.
I tried some more, I tried D, E, F, G.
I thought I’d tried them all, but they didn’t sound right to me.
'Cuz when I woke up this morning, it seems like I lost my key.

I got my guitar, and I played lots of chords.
The cat stood up, and she walked out the door.
Well, you know it’s bad when the cat walks out the door.
I yelled to her I just can't help it, 'cuz I can’t find my key no more.

I tried the piano, but I just couldn’t play.
And the cat came back in, she had something to say.
I don’t know what it was, but she sure had something bad to say.
I said to her I'm really sorry, but I can’t find my key today.

I went to the store to buy a new harp.
They said we don’t have that key, at least not at in this shop.
I said you’ve just got to help me, help me to find my key.
She said you could try another store, but if I were you,
I’d be thinking it might be me.

I woke up this morning, there was something wrong with me.
When I woke up this morning I just couldn’t find my key.
Yeah, woke up this morning and I just couldn't find my key.
So I'm going to go to bed early, and hope my key finds me.
I'll go to bed early and hope that my key is going to find me.
