That's You

from Snake Road by Englewood

lyrics

Tossing and turning all last night.
Flashing and burning all last night.
Couldn’t get to sleep at all last night. Watching the dark turn into the light.
Then you turn around and held me and I fell right asleep.
That’s what you do. That’s you.

Jumped into the shower and threw on some clothes.
Drove to the station, eating on the road.
Squeezed onto the train, didn’t get a seat. Read the newspaper standing on my feet.
But when we got to your station and you gave me a smile I felt good.
That’s what you do.
I don’t know how you do it, I don’t know how it’s done.
All I know is that you’re the one.
You do it with a look, you do it with a smile. You don’t even know when you’re doing it sometimes.
You make happy. You make me feel good. That’s what you do. That’s you.

Rush to the office, grab a cup of joe.
Sit at the computer, and go-go-go.
Staring at the screen most of the day. Going to meetings where there’s nothing to say.
Ten hours later when we’re ready to go I feel good. That’s you.

Come on home, talk about our day.
Eat some dinner, and listen to the game.
Read a book, turn off the light.
That’s when I know everything is all right.
I don’t know how you do it but you make me feel good.
That’s what you do. That’s you.

I don’t know how you do it…..
