I Wonder Who You Are

from Long Shadows by Englewood

/

lyrics

Today I met you for the first time in a long long while.
I hadn’t seen you much at all since you were just a child.

Across the years, across the miles there’s such a gulf between.
But still we grew from common roots; entwined and buried deep.

I see you wave from years away,
A shining golden star.
I spy you on a distant shore.
I wonder who you are.

We spent the hours walking, talking; driving quietly.
We shared some memories, broke some bread,
and walked beside the sea.

I hope that in the time we spent we might have formed a bond.
I hope that if you need a hand, you won’t have to look long.

I see you wave from years away,
A shining golden star.
I spy you on a distant shore.
I wonder who you are.

And maybe in a few more years we’ll do it all again.
Maybe in a few more years, we’ll do it all as friends.

I see you wave from years away,
A shining golden star.
I spy you on a distant shore.
I wonder who you are.
I wonder who you are.
