Cher Grand-mere, I write this letter from a Paris café.
You should be safe home now; I’m so glad you came to stay.
And I know it can be hard travelling all that way.

Cher Grand-mere, I’m sitting by the banks of the Seine,
holding hands with my very, very good friend.
but now that you’ve gone I need to get back to work again.

Hey Kid, I hope this email finds you well.
I’m back home now, released from airplane hell.
Changed my euros back to dollars;
now I’m going to rest a spell.

Hey Kid, you’ve really done me proud,
singing your tunes to that Paris Metro crowd.
And it really knocks me out how you speak French out loud.

Cher Grand-mere, I’ve discovered something up in the skies.
It’s a real break-through I found from my freshly rested eyes.
I’m going to write up a paper and
send it to the other science guys.

Hey Kid, I saw you in the paper today.
The New York Times On-line said
you had something brand-new to say.
You found magic in the heavens,
I always knew you would someday.
